Previous owner said I need an antenna

The guy that sold me the Kawasaki KRX said that I'll need to install an antenna on it, but I'm confused. This model doesn't have a stereo, so why would I need an antenna?

Welcome to the KRX family! The antenna isn't for a stereo on these, it's for a two-way radio, like a VHF or UHF.
A lot of us run them to communicate with other riders on the trail, which is super helpful for staying in touch and warning people about hazards, especially where there's no cell service.
You'll want to get a good one, like a whip antenna, and mount it high on the roll cage for the best signal!

Yup, the previous owner was probably referring to a two-way radio. I agree with @McDash1171, you'd definitely want to get that set up, especially if you ride with a group. Just an important consideration, the location for the antenna is key! Mounting it up high on the cage is a great idea, but also make sure you've got a good ground plane and that the coax cable is routed away from any electrical interference. Some guys even run a dedicated ground strap to the chassis. You don't want to lose comms when you're in the middle of nowhere!

Okay, that makes a lot of sense, thanks for clearing that up. So which models would you recommend? I usually ride with a group and to be honest, I had no idea antennas were a thing, so I have no idea if they have or not. Let's say that the others do, do I need to get some powerful one or not? Sorry for so many questions, trying to understand the needs and requirements for something like this.
